Breakfast Pie...

You know, I've consumed a lot of pizza in my half-century.  Some of that has been in the morning.

Always it's consisted of the previous nights leftovers.  Put a little oil in a frying pan, put the pizza in and cover it- bottom gets nice and crisp and the cheese gets mushy melted.

Perfect way to start the day.

And then I ran across this today- It's a pizza you'd make for breakfast  and it looks darn good, like realllly darn good.  I do believe I'll give this a go in the next couple of weeks.  Or maybe for supper tonight.

It looks pretty simple, which is the beauty of it.  I like the way the crust is nice and crisp, with a slight char.

The bacon would have to be a bit crisper, and I'm not sure about the egg- do you think the egg cooked on top of the pizza or was placed on late in the process?

Waddya think?

I'm going to have to find a recipe before the experiment unfolds.
I'll let you know how it comes out.

  1. Did you try this yet? I guess it would depend on how hot your oven is as to how much the egg will cook. I usually cook my pizzas at 500 for 10-15 minutes which to me sounds like it would be cooked enough. A little runny egg doesn't scare me so I'd try it. Sounds like a great breakfast but I'm just not an early riser and NEVER make breakfast except on Saturdays.
