Tupper, why do you blog???

Well, to make a short story long, here's why....

There are lots of blogs out there.  I mean a boatload, no, more like a crapload,  ya know like a zillion.

If you're new to this blogging thing and hang around for awhile you'll quickly see that are tons of great blogs that pertain to whatever topic or interests you have.

Me, I'm into food. I work and play with a bunch of serious foodies and to keep up you have to find new stuff, for lack of a better term.

I started reading food blogs a couple of years ago, one thing led to another, and before I knew it I had
over 100 blogs bookmarked.  You see, the problem is most bloggers post links of their favorite blogs on their sidebar, as have I. I'd find a blog I liked and bookmark it.

They're like friggin' rabbits, they reproduce exponentially.

So if you're going to collect blogs I'd advise against marking every one you see. What I would suggest is to keep the list to a manageable number in your bookmarks. What's manageable? I'd say 100 or less.  Next, clean house on a regular basis.  If you don't visit the site, dump it, that way when out find another super site, you'll have room to add.

Alrighty, enough tips.  Why do I blog and read blogs?

A few reasons:

1- I like to cook and you can find great recipes.

2- You get to see great pics of the recipes, and a lot are step by step.  Makes cooking easier. I can spend hours on Foodgawker. I'm a Gawker Stalker.

3- If you have questions you get answers.  I've discovered that the blogging community is a friendly one.  I've talked with bestselling authors and chefs.  They're accessible, which is like way cool.

4- You make new friends.

5- Finally, one thing I didn't expect, but appreciate more on a daily basis is that I get to travel (vicariously).

If I want to visit France  I click on David Lebovitz.  In the past few weeks he's taken me along on a truffle hunt in Cahors (yup, truffles, the ones they use pigs to find.)  His work is excellent.  If you've ever been to Paris you'll appreciate it.

To check out NY Pizza I click on Slice.

Want to head out to a ranch? See the Pioneer Woman, an amazing site for a lot of reasons.

Travel cross-country? Join Amy  as she travels from NY to  'Frisco (my newest favorite blog).

Then there's the cultural aspects and learning about different people and their lives.

And on and on and on.....

Exceptional cooking, writing and photography.  Makes me a bit smarter and wiser I hope.

And that folks, is why I blog.
